Oh it is such a treat to visit Buisjes & Beugels+++, they always have such an awesome selection of items to choose from. Not to mention the playfulness of their website just makes me smile. Though Buisjes & Beugels+++ has a lovely section just for Parents - I have to admit that I am usually found adoring all their awesome children's finds.
Buisjes & Beugels +++, which means 'tubulars and braces', was founded in 2005 by dutch product designer and mother Kellie Smits. Her muses are her sons Elvis and Djek, who are her dress models and sometime help select the boys clothes while buying for the new season. - Sponsor Spotlight

They say ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away but a pear can be so much sweeter’, now you can enjoy them both at the same time with "La Mela e La Pera" or as we say in English "The Apple and Pear". This screenprint is designed by Enzo Mari in 1963 for Danese Milano, Italy.
Enzo Mari is an icon in product, furniture & puzzle designer, a true artist, writer and teacher and was born in Italy in 1932. "La Mela e La Pera" is from Enzo Mari’s nature series. You can say that this “healty” graphic styled mod Apple and Pear is a classic piece of Modern Design...I love the simplicity and the boldness of this artwork, it makes it just that more beautiful and special. A real eye catcher that will make any room spark......................... MORE IMAGES
You can always find a great selection over at Mikkili. The founder Moniek Kerkhofs has created a sleek mix of designer products for home accessories, jewelery, paper goods, gadgets and more. The HAY bed linen can be found here, and the ORA wall clock can be found here.
I really like the choices in the kitchen textile section over at Mikkili. I can never resist a large checker pattern - especially in the array of colors they have. And how about the gray felt pins or the simplistic design of this notebook set. See what I mean about finding a great selection over at Mikkili? - Sponsor Spotlight

I have fallen deeply for these Utilitarian ceramic Vessels by B.Fiess... a little bit more about this American native on his about page ...
some places online where you can pre-oreder the vessels; Leif ; iko iko ; ship&shape ; .. I still haven't decided which color combination I like best. But just looking at the page gives me so much color inspiration. Would love to hear what you think about them?

The reason why poppytalk is loved by so many readers worldwide is probably Jan's perfect eye. She spots interesting things imedeatly and I enjoy her finds for so many years.

A: Art means to me… Transforming personal experience into a new form and, for me, seeing beauty in our fragile, fleeting and AMAZING human experience; the desire and will to express that results in a painting somehow being created-the best bits usually arrive totally unplanned some how in the process of making.
R: Reading books, blogs or magazines... I have collected loads and loads and loads of books on artists and philosophers that inspire and are kept very close to hand on my studio shelves. I spend a precious guilty " cup of coffee-time" (or two..) in the morning after dropping my son off at school looking at inspirational blogs. For years i have torn out interesting bits from magazines and made piles of scrap book compilations that are a treasured personal resource for developing ideas and themes.
T: Trends I see in art or graphic design are… My husband, Andy, has his own design company and i've noticed how people come to him now not only for creating their brand but to make it work as a moving image- he does amazing animations for them and for T.V. In contrast to this highly teccy wonder world; i see that one increasingly important role of art that is 'hand-made' is to provide a window into stillness and a certain kind of focus - a very subtle intimate experience that fills a need that often can't be defined or articulated.
Always nice to share one of the projects Marjon and I have done last time she was here visiting me... a Kuala Lumpur City Guide for Sawasdee, the Thai airlines inflight magazine.
It is actually nice making city guides, intens, hard work but fun! It all starts with preparations: where to go, what to share and often you need to have permission to shoot. Than you give yourself about two days to run around like crazy to capture as much and as beautiful as possible. And you can only hope circumstances like weather, opening hours or others are working for you.
Kuala Lumpur is an interesting city. There are many hidden gems troughout the city. I believe much more could be done to clean up the city and restore the beautiful old buildings, but there certainly are many amazing spots. NY style restaurants, Milan kind of shops and of course the fantatstic Asian food stalls, restauarants and culture ... but guidance is needed! And I hope with this guide we have done just that.
The images were made by Marjon Hoogervorst and the words were by me. We have so many more images from Kuala Lumpur left, if you are a publisher or editor and looking for a Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide than please send Marjon or me an email.
A lot of browsing on the web tonight so just before i go to sleep i like to show you this: found via mokkasin. Do you like it too?
An these illustrations below that I found via Normann Copenhagen by Daniele Costa... his impressions of the Milan furniture fair 2012... i lOve them!
If there is something that I truly am obsessed with, it would be chalkboards. I am not sure if it is because both my parent's were teachers, and I spent a lot of time in classrooms around chalkboards growing up, but it is love for me. Typically, I only purchase vintage chalkboards, but I really like the new to look vintage ones over at DA Custom Frames. I also realize chalkboards are a thing right now, so I imagine these will go over awesomely. You can read more about them at DA Custom Frame's blog. You can also purchase the smaller versions on their website.
On top of bringing the chalkboard back, DA Custom Frames also makes lovely handmade picture frames, as I am sure you can assume from their name. They have a large range of styles and colors for you to choose from. To name a few styles I like - distressed, flat and vertical. DA Custom Frames also does handmade mirrors, so you could basically decorate your entire home at just this one shop. - Sponsor Spotlight
Very happy and proud to share our 2nd Face-to-face: a designer's profile today with Mae Engelgeer from Studio Mae. Marjon and Sandra visited Mae at her ground floor apartment of a house in 'de Pijp', a wonderful neighborhood in Amsterdam two weeks ago to talk with her about her textile label Studio Mae, inspiration, the way she combines work with family life and what it is like to start your own business.
Would you like to see all the beautiful images and the complete interview then click here for the special Designer's Profile page.

A little while ago I told you how my friend Lisette Scheers, who lives here in Kuala Lumpur had visited the Milan Furniture fair and she made some fantatsic images of the things she liked. You might remember this post about Paola Lenti's new collection or Ventura Lambrate... today just a summary of all the designs she saw at Fiera Rho, in lIsette her words: "This year not so inspiring - a lot of the same - and everyone uses the same colours : fluo, light blue, ocre yellow and light green" ... not sure of you agree ? I hear what she is saying but I do like these warm and cozy little stools... called the Bambi chairs by Takeshi Sawada.
